Le dimanche 25 juin, l’équipe de l’AFKO vous invite à la FrancoFête au Lakeside Park de 16 à 20h30. Retrouvez-nous avant votre été chargé pour se rassembler, profiter de cet bel espace et jouer de la musique!

Le groupe bluegrass/folk Veranda de Montréal nous rend visite à l’occasion de cet événement.
Avant leur concert, ils animeront une jam où tout le monde peut se joindre en apportant leur instrument. C’est un moment pour la communauté de se rapprocher et de partager une expérience musicale.

Veranda est la collaboration entre la comédienne et musicienne
Catherine-Audrey Lachapelle (District 31) et le musicien multiinstrumentiste Léandre Joly-Pelletier.
Les deux jeunes artistes viennent de sphères bien différentes, et c’est ce qui donne autant de richesse à leur travail. Veranda propose un parfait alliage d’influences, accordant habilement bluegrass, folk et country. Le duo navigue à merveille entre simplicité et virtuosité, et offre des mélodies riches
rehaussées par un travail harmonique raffiné. Après un premier EP en anglais classé parmi les meilleurs albums de la mi-année par ICI Musique en 2019, le duo offre maintenant un deuxième album, entièrement en français cette fois-ci. Avec cette nouvelle œuvre unique en son genre, aussi festive que sensible, Veranda s’impose par l’originalité de sa démarche.
Imaginez un endroit reculé, une bucolique cabane dans les bois, devant laquelle se bercent tranquillement Dolly Parton, Ralph Stanley et Emmylou Harris. Veranda, c’est ça.
Ils seront accompagnés sur scène avec une contrebassiste et un violoniste. Ils nous ont promis du folk qui bouge! On a hâte de voir ça!

A la suite de leur formation aux côtés de DJ Marie-Paule Berthiaume, les tout récemment formés nouveaux DJ vont nous montrer ce qu’ils ont appris durant deux sets de 20 minutes.
Une bonne façon de finir la journée en bougeant!
Tout au long de cette après-midi, vous aurez l’occasion de découvrir le programme des camps d’été.

Montreal bluegrass/folk band Veranda is visiting us for this event.
Before their concert, they will host a jam where anyone can join in by bringing their instrument. This is a time for the community to come together and share a musical experience.

Veranda is the collaboration between actress and musician
Catherine-Audrey Lachapelle (District 31) and multi-instrumentalist Léandre Joly-Pelletier.
The two young artists come from very different spheres, and this is what gives so much richness to their work. Veranda offers a perfect blend of influences, skilfully combining bluegrass, folk and country. The duo navigates wonderfully between simplicity and virtuosity, and offers rich melodies
enhanced by a refined harmonic work. After a first EP in English ranked among the best albums of the mid-year by ICI Musique in 2019, the duo now offers a second album, entirely in French this time. With this new and unique work, as festive as it is sensitive, Veranda imposes itself by the originality of its approach.
Imagine a secluded place, a bucolic cabin in the woods, in front of which Dolly Parton, Ralph Stanley and Emmylou Harris are quietly rocking. Veranda, that’s it.
They will be accompanied on stage by a double bass player and a violinist. They promised us folk music that moves! We can’t wait to see it!

Following their training with DJ Marie-Paule Berthiaume, the newly trained DJs will show us what they’ve learned during two 20-minute sets.
A great way to end the day with a bang!
