DESCRIPTION:English follows… \nNous sommes super contentes de vous annoncer que le Nelson Civic Theatre a accepté de programmer\, en partenariat avec l’AFKO\, un film québécois dans le cadre de la journée nationale du film canadien: le 17 avril à 19h. \nIl s’agira du film Ru\, réalisé par Charles-Olivier Michaud et basé sur le roman éponyme de Kim Thùy\, qui raconte son arrivée au Québec depuis le Vietnam par une traversée en mer périlleuse et un camp de réfugiés en Malaisie. Le récit montre l’adaptation de la jeune fille à sa nouvelle vie au Canada grâce à l’accueil chaleureux de tous\, dont la famille qui la parraine. \nC’est une projection gratuite et en français\, sous-titrée en anglais. Les billets ne sont pas encore en ligne\, mais le seront sur le site du Nelson Civic Theatre très vite. \nVotre présence en nombre démontrera ô combien la communauté de Nelson désire plus de films francophones au Nelson Civic Theatre! \nPS. Nous avons le livre Ru à l’AFKO\, si ça vous dit de le lire avant de voir le film \n  \nMerci au Canadian Film Day et au Nelson Civic Theatre de nous offrir ce film! \n  \nWe’re thrilled to announce that the Nelson Civic Theatre\, in partnership with AFKO\, has agreed to program a Quebec film as part of National Canadian Film Day: April 17 at 7 p.m. \nThe film will be Ru\, directed by Charles-Olivier Michaud and based on Kim Thùy’s novel of the same name\, which recounts his arrival in Quebec from Vietnam via a perilous sea crossing and a refugee camp in Malaysia. The story shows how the young girl adapts to her new life in Canada\, thanks to the warm welcome she receives from everyone\, including her sponsoring family. \nThe screening is free and in French\, with English subtitles. Tickets are not yet available online\, but will be on the Nelson Civic Theatre website very soon. \nYour presence in large numbers will demonstrate just how much the Nelson community wants more French-language films at the Nelson Civic Theatre! \nPS.
